A Few Steps to Being More Sustainable

A Few Steps to Being More Sustainable

Many individuals are conscious of the impact they have on the environment and are eager to make a positive difference. However, the idea of creating a sustainable or ethical wardrobe from scratch can be overwhelming. It involves giving up familiar brands, limiting choices in terms of fashion trends, and potentially spending more money than usual. While these concerns are valid, starting a sustainable wardrobe is not as difficult as it may seem, and the long-term benefits are definitely worth it. The key is to remember that every small change you make towards becoming a greener shopper is a step in the right direction, regardless of how insignificant it may feel at the time. Here are a few easy steps to take to become more sustainable.

  1. Do research- To become a more conscious shopper, it is crucial to conduct thorough research to aid in decision-making. The initial step can be quite challenging as it involves figuring out where to begin and, more significantly, where to shop
  2. Buy trans-seasonal items-Make sure to only purchase items that you are confident will be suitable for all seasons. Opt for jeans, T-shirts, timeless dresses, and durable coats and jackets to create a sustainable wardrobe that will last.
  3. Donate unwanted clothing items- By donating your unwanted clothes to a worthy cause instead of keeping them in your closet, you can contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle for others. Instead of purchasing new items, they can make use of your old pieces, which is a beneficial investment. The Clothing Library accepts donations
